How to get there
The Salt Museum is situated on the A533 about half a mile south of Northwich town centre. It is well signed (follow the brown signs) from the A556 and is approximately a 30 minute drive from Chester and 40 minutes from Liverpool and Manchester. If approaching from Northwich town centre, please make sure you indicate and turn right immediately after passing underneath the railway viaduct. You’ll need to allow at least 1 ½ hours to visit the Salt Museum.
Facilities
The museum has a gift shop selling a wide range of gifts and a good selection of books about the salt industry, Cheshire and local history.
We have a coffee shop with a great choice of coffee, teas and locally produced cakes. For those in need of a hot meal, there is a pub next door to the museum serving a wide range of pub grub.
Parking is free, there are designated disabled parking spaces in the car park and there is no admission charge to the temporary exhibitions gallery.
Open to all
The Salt Museum welcomes visitors of all ages and interests. The Museum is fully accessible with a range of facilities. Please give us a call if you need to discuss access arrangements.
